docSHIFT
We are very excited to announce that DOC Toronto has received funding from the OMDC's Creative Cluster Partnership Fund for the docSHIFT initiative. docSHIFT: Real Stories to Multiple Platforms will create new business opportunities by bringing Ontario documentary filmmakers together with new-media producers. It will facilitate new creative partnerships and help develop innovative interactive documentary projects.
The two year project has three main components:
1) a creative convergence lab
2) a series of training workshops
3) an incubator program that will produce prototypes ready for full production
docSHIFT will move forward in collaboration with our principal partners: Ryerson University, Hot Docs, and the National Film Board. We look forward to our collaboration on docSHIFT, and to forging new relationships with new media associations and companies.
We are already deep into the planning of the initiative, with a networking event planned for late March and the Creative Convergence Lab scheduled for May. Stay connected and get ready to embrace the SHIFT -- a collaborative discovery of a world-class new interactive documentary genre.
Most importantly, we'd like to thank the Ontario Media Development Corporation for believing in this critical initiative, which will ensure documentary filmmakers are empowered to continue telling great stories on new platforms.
docSHIFT is made possible with the support of the Ontario Media Development Corporation on behalf of the Ministry of Culture.

It is presented in partnership with Ryerson University, Hot Docs, CFC Media Lab and the National Film Board.
